Are These Scotland's Best Cinnamon Rolls?

"This is the closest an inanimate object has ever come to giving me the warmest of hugs."

That’s how the writer, Lauren Robertson, recently described our cinnamon buns in The Sunday Post.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. On a perfectly imperfect, dreich day, there’s nothing quite like the comfort of warm, freshly baked cinnamon buns—and no one deserves the spotlight more than the talented hands behind them: our amazing baker, Catalina, known to us as Kat.

Celebrating Cat's Story

Kat’s journey to becoming an award-winning baker is nothing short of inspiring. Moving to Scotland from Romania in search of a fresh start, she had never baked before but quickly fell in love with it. Through sheer determination and passion, she mastered the craft, creating stunning cakes, pastries, and, of course, her now-famous cinnamon buns.

Last year, her pork & haggis sausage roll also made it to the Top 3 of The Great Sausage Roll Off

Her homebaked goodies have become so popular that people travel from near and far just to try them. For example, one of our customers visits monthly for her scrumptious raspberry scones.

We are incredibly proud to have Cat as part of The Real Food Cafe team. Her journey, her work ethic, and her talent are nothing short of inspiring. She has proven that with passion, dedication, and a bit of flour-covered determination, anything is possible.

So next time you visit, don’t leave without trying one of Cat’s legendary cinnamon buns.
